POSITION SUMMARY
Performs any combination of the following duties related to lumber grading and quality control:
- Inspects lumber for defects such as knots, splits, rot, and other grade characteristics.
- Determines appropriate grade based on species, dimensions, and customer requirements.
- Sorts lumber by specifications required
- Monitors overall product quality and communicates
- Ensures grade consistency and accuracy to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Assists production staff to maintain efficient material flow.
- Assist with cleaning of debris, both during the day and at the end of the shift.
- Assist with any other task deemed necessary as part of the operation, or the company operations as a whole.
- Treat company’s property, vehicles & inventory with respect, care & safety.
HIGH EFFICIENCY TASKS
- Read, learn, and follow all company policies regarding personal performance, safety, and attendance to ensure optimal production performance.
- Master all technical training required for the performance
- Perform well in a team environment
- Implement required training on the job to ensure safety compliance, to ensure quality products, and to meet established standards and expectations.

- Follow instructions of Supervisors, Trainers, & Management.
- Strive daily to improve safety and production procedures and efficiency.
- Work to have excellent attendance, willingness to learn, and a cooperative attitude.
- Perform all production tasks assigned to the best of your ability.
- Stay current on new applicable processes & latest technology.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
SHIFT AVAILABILITY: This position requires availability for first shift, typically between 6:00 AM and 3:30 PM. Flexibility to work additional hours as needed is preferred.
BACKGROUND
High School Diploma / GED or relevant work experience & Lumber Grader Certification (such as, NHLA or PLIB)
EXPERIENCE
- Previous Experience grading lumber.
- Knowledge of lumber grading rules and defect identification.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make consistent decisions quickly.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
- Work well independently and with a team.
- Motivated, self disciplined individual with a strong work ethic.
SKILLS
Communication, People skills, Leadership, Adaptable, New Concept, Analytical & Problem solving, Some computer skills.
Pay: $19.45 – $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
