Job Description
Quality Control (QC) is responsible for inspecting parts using various types of gages. QC duties include First Article Inspection, In-process Inspection, and Final Inspection. The role requires understanding the Quality Process associated with these inspection points. QC personnel must document any NCRs and report them to the Shop Manager and Quality Coordinator. The disposition of NCRs is determined after communication with these authorities.
Required
Knowledge:
At least 2 years of experience in Quality Inspection within Machining Operations.
Ability to read and interpret Blue Prints.
Proficiency in using various quality gages to check parts.
Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office).
Job Duties:
Follow all safety requirements in the shop.
Verify parts for quality and specifications.
Manage scheduling within the Quality Control Department.
Ensure gages are in good working condition and properly calibrated (calibrations maintained by Tool Assistant).
Verify that all paperwork is complete and accurate before progressing to the next step.
Ensure all customer requirements are met before releasing parts for shipment.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area and tools, returning them to QC or Tool Crib as appropriate.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
Assist with tasks such as ballooning prints, creating data sheets, and de-burring. QC personnel may be asked to perform additional duties outside their regular scope when required by supervisors.
