JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:
Maintenance Planner

REPORTS TO:
Maintenance Supervisor

LOCATION: Hamilton

Position Responsibilities:

Principal contact for any work that is required and ensures constant communication with the requester.

Communicates between all facets of a 24/7 manufacturing environment to schedule and prioritize all maintenance assignments.

Craft labour estimates, ensuring all resources and parts are available before the work order is scheduled.

Develop long & short-range plans including complete job packages.

Ensure proper follow-up and close out of every job.

Develop & analyze KPI reports

Documentation control and analysis as it pertains to food safety, health & safety, security, and the environment.

Work closely with the department to establish PM programs and predictive PM’s, analysis of equipment history, and repetitive failure analysis.

Development/implementation and review of PM checklist/schedule

Review and plan preventive and corrective maintenance requests

Assistance in the development & implementation of capital projects

Estimate time and costs required for project executions

Follow up on the Department’s work order (Maintenance, Quality, H&S, Production, etc.) and validate planned timelines

Bring technical support to the Maintenance teams, to ensure the optimization

Create, analyze and update the Oracle system

Participate in continuous improvement project teams, as required

Identify and resolve problems, recommend improvements in the planning process and ensure routine schedules

Maintain safe and clean work environment by ensuring plant is in accordance with governing practices, codes and regulations.

Prioritize and schedule work backlogs by type and status

Produce planned work schedules for Maintenance Supervisors

Conduct follow-up to ensure satisfactory completion of required work

Understand and practice all Health and Safety, GMP and Food Safety policies and regulations

Other Duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & WORK EXPERIENCE

Professional training or relevant post-secondary education

At least 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance planning department

Previous experience in a unionized food, beverage or packaged goods industry is a definite asset

Solid computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and exposure to Oracle systems is an asset.

Ability to communicate and work with all relevant associates, stakeholders and resources in a frequently changing and challenging environment

Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task

Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented; strong organization skills with sound prioritizing abilities.
