Management Associate – Quality Assurance Jobs in Ecorse, MI at United States Steel Corporation
The opportunity:
The Quality Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise in the application of quality principles, processes, and tools to improve product and service quality and operational results. The Quality Manager reports to the Operations Manager.
How you will impact WestRock:
Directs the Quality Management System at the Mill
Perform as ISO Management Representative for the Florence Mill as an ISO certified mill
Provide training and coaching of WestRock Quality System principles and practices
Ensure that systems are in place to meet customer expectations
Implement quality systems –Policies, Procedures
Build synergies with customers
Customer Service: QIRs/ACRs, contacting customers, studying trends, etc.
Supervision of the Paper and Environmental labs and department personnel responsibilities
Provide mill with tools to monitor their operation and maintain quality data, for individual customers
Facilitate and drive improvement projects targeting improving customer satisfaction
Advise appropriate managers of specific quality issues or trends
Compliance/Audit – provide validation that best practices are being followed as being followed as prescribed
Oversight for the areas specific to document management, calibration, internal assessment, management review, and employee training as it relates to the Quality Management System
What you need to succeed:
3 + years of Quality Management Systems experience in corrugated, folding carton, food & beverage, or general manufacturing industry
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred
ISO certification preferred
Competent with Microsoft Office and Statistical Software
Capable of representing WestRock to our customers
Capable of traveling 30% or more of time
