Northrop Grumman is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our location in Baltimore, Maryland. This will be a full-time position with a 9/80 schedule.
Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management. Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list. Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks. Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs. Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs. Reports on supplier performance to site stakeholders through recurring Material Corrective Action Board (MATCAB) meetings. Drives affordability through monitoring of budget and spend. Travels to suppliers as required to achieve positive outcomes. Fosters a collaborative culture that sustains momentum around engagement, problem solving, and continuous improvement. Serves as a “strong voice for quality” and a role model for NG Values.
May be asked to support programs at other sites within the business unit.
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor degree in a STEM field and minimum of 8 years of experience in quality and/or manufacturing: Masters degree in any discipline and a Bachelors degree in STEM and 6+ years of work experience in quality and/or manufacturing
US Citizenship
Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Will to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience facilitating Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities.
Defense industry experience, including interfacing with suppliers.
Experience in a quality, supplier quality, or manufacturing role.
SAP Business System experience.
.Current active DoD SECRET clearance, or higher
Certification in J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, 610, 620 or Mil-Std-883.
Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt.
Salary Range: $119,200.00 – $178,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
