We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through rigorous testing. The Manual Tester will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to identify software defects, document test cases, and validate new features before release.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Design:

Understand business and functional requirements to design comprehensive test cases.

Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements.

Identify and document test scenarios for both functional and non-functional requirements.

Test Execution & Defect Tracking:

Execute manual test cases to ensure the software meets business needs and specifications.

Log, track, and document defects, including steps to reproduce them, severity, and priority.

Conduct regression testing to confirm that recent changes have not adversely affected existing functionality.

Perform smoke testing and sanity testing on new builds before detailed testing.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to clarify issues and validate fixes.

Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and retrospective discussions in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Provide timely feedback on test results and work collaboratively to resolve defects.

Test Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of test activities, including test execution reports and defect reports.

Create and update test documentation, including test case repositories.

Provide regular updates to stakeholders on test coverage, defect trends, and testing progress.

Quality Assurance & Best Practices:

Follow best practices in manual testing and quality assurance methodologies.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in testing practices.

Stay up to date with the latest testing techniques and industry trends.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills:

Strong experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications.

Ability to write detailed test cases, test scripts, and test plans.

Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Trello).

Experience with database testing using SQL queries.

Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman (preferred).

Understanding of different testing methodologies, including Black Box Testing, White Box Testing, UAT, and Regression Testing.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

High attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software.

Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent is a plus.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Basic knowledge of automation testing is a plus but not required.
