Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong background in Manual Testing of iOS/mobile applications and experience working with test automation using any automation framework. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical and debugging skills, a passion for delivering high-quality products, and experience validating complex mobile applications and backend services in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
- Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing, with a focus on iOS/mobile applications.
- Experience creating and executing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Hands-on experience performing Functional, Regression, Integration, System, Smoke, Sanity, User Acceptance (UAT), and End-to-End Testing.
- Experience testing native mobile applications, with strong understanding of the iOS application lifecycle, app installation, upgrades, and release validation.
- Experience with at least one test automation framework (e.g., Appium, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Espresso, XCUITest, Robot Framework, Cucumber, TestNG, or similar).
- Experience with API Testing using Postman, REST Assured, Swagger, or similar tools.
- Experience validating REST APIs, request/response payloads, authentication, headers, and error-handling scenarios.
- Ability to analyze application logs and troubleshoot issues across mobile and backend components.
- Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, ALM, or similar.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing consumer-facing mobile applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
- Experience testing backend services, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Java, Python, JavaScript, Swift.
- Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and quality engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive manual testing for native iOS/mobile applications across multiple release cycles.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, exploratory, and release validation testing.
- Validate APIs and backend services supporting mobile applications.
- Identify, document, reproduce, and track software defects through resolution.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure product quality.
- Support and maintain automation test suites using the team's preferred automation framework.
- Participate in release readiness activities and contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes and test coverage.
