Manufacturing Quality Inspector

Reports To: Operations Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Manufacturing Quality Inspector to join our team. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials, work-in-process, and finished products to ensure they meet company standards, customer specifications, and applicable quality requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials, components, and finished products for quality and conformance.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Identify, document, and communicate defects or nonconformances.
- Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Verify products meet customer and internal quality requirements.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to resolve quality issues.
- Support calibration and proper use of inspection equipment.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area.
- Follow all company quality procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete inspection documentation.
- Ability to work independently while also being an effective team member.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GD&T.
- Experience with CMM or other advanced inspection equipment.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.
- Experience with ERP/MRP or quality management systems.
