Materials Quality Engineer I/II – Fort Worth District Laboratory Jobs in Fort Worth, TX at Texas Department of Transportation
POSITION SUMMARY:
This will be a day shift position. The hours will be Saturday through Wednesday from 6:00am – 3:00pm with an hour for meal break.
Laboratory Quality Associates perform laboratory functions in support of Crystal Magnesium Sulfate testing, verification, and daily reporting. Also, completes in-process and finished goods inspection-verification for Crystal Epsom Salt product deliverables.
Laboratory Quality Associate shall have a minimum of 1-2yrs (Quality Assurance) experience working in a Regulated Manufacturing facility (FDA, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device). Laboratory Quality Associates must be highly motivated, self-disciplined, and possess excellent time management, oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to perform essential functions in a team environment and the ability to work independently are essential to success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Laboratory Essential Functions:
Perform Brine Testing (specific gravity, color, pH, chlorides), as needed
Perform sample prep, calibration checks, and misc. lab duties.
Perform Daily Crystal testing.
Quality Assurance Essential Functions:
Perform Process Audits (escalating non-conformances with Shift Supervisor)
Perform Process Sample Testing for Crystal Epsom Salt (Bulk Density, Density, pH, and Color)
Perform in-process Batch Record review-verification concerning GDP (Good Documentation Practices) and escalating GDP errors and/or non-conformances with Shift Supervisor
Perform in-process and final inspection-verification of 2000LB Super Sack (finished goods)
Perform in-process and final inspection-verification of 50LB Bag (finished goods)
Perform product dispositioning of non-conforming product.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree with minimum 6 credit hours of chemistry
1-2yrs. work experience in Quality Assurance (Manufacturing) and/or Quality Laboratory with demonstrated track-record of accomplishments.
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
1-2yrs. QA/QC experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
1-2yrs. QA/QC experience in a GMP/GDP Regulated Environment.
Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Automotive QA/QC experience a plus
Team Focused with Customer First mentality.
