Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) is seeking a detail-oriented Software Tester to join our Technology Development team. In this full-time role, you’ll play a key part in developing high-quality software tools that support global Scripture engagement efforts.
You’ll collaborate with developers and product owners to test applications, document issues, and even build automated test scripts. If you love solving logic puzzles, exploring edge cases, and serving others through technology—this is your opportunity to combine your skills with purpose.
Essential Functions
§ Test software to confirm proper functioning.
§ Document reproducible steps where improper functioning is found.
§ Work with Product Owner to create and edit software issues in Jira.
§ Work with the issue tracking system, updating existing issues with testing results and creating new issues as needed (for instance when new bugs are found).
§ Approve status of issues as appropriate (fixed, unworkable or incomplete.)
§ Develop automated tests using appropriate tools (such as Ranorex).
§ Manage the internal and external software releases for Render.
§ Perform Render software demonstrations as needed for internal testing and review.
§ Serve as Render help desk off-hours resource to answer questions from the field during ongoing projects.
Requirements:
1. High attention to detail, both in following strict processes and observing minute effects
2. Ability to think logically (such as solving puzzles)
3. A knack for identifying and exercising software edge cases
4. Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written)
5. Programming experience is highly desired, particularly as it pertains to writing test scripts
6. A team player with a helpful here-to-serve attitude
7. Ability to work long hours at a computer station
