Position: Microbiologist Supervisor (Fort Worth, TX)

This position will coach, develop, and lead the QC Microbiology team to ensure Smith & Nephew products are tested in accordance with established specifications and comply with applicable regulatory guidance and company policy requirements.
The QC Microbiology Supervisor will collaborate cross-functionally to achieve site goals. This position will be responsible for non-conformances, OOS investigations, review and approval of test results and maintaining a cGxP environment in the QC laboratory.
What will you be doing?
Lead and manage day-to-day activities for the QC Microbiology team.
Review test results for conformance with specifications and effective documents.
Assist in internal and external audits.
Interview and hire QC Microbiology personnel.
Evaluate, coach, and manage personnel performance.
Monitor group spending to remain on track with annual budget.
What will you need to be successful?
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or related scientific discipline
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a cGxP environment
Minimum of 4 years in quality-related experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven competence in area to be supervised with minimum 3-5 years of related technical experience; excellent working knowledge of cGxP regulations for QC laboratory applications; excellent working knowledge of data integrity; good working knowledge of compendial requirements; good project management and organizational skills.
Proactive and timely resolution of issues.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Attentive to detail; competent with computerized data storage systems (e.g., LIMS).
Positive attitude working in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands
: able to lift 25-30 lbs; able to stand 1-2 hours at a time.
