We are seeking a technically proficient Microbiology Quality Supervisor to join an established testing and monitoring laboratory in Louth. This role is ideal for a microbiology professional with a strong background in ISO 17025 compliance who is looking to transition into a supervisory position.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of quality protocols within the microbiology department. You will ensure that all testing procedures meet stringent regulatory requirements while managing the audit lifecycle and equipment maintenance schedules. This is a hands-on quality role that requires a blend of technical laboratory knowledge and a strong administrative oversight.
Key Responsibilities
– Ensuring full compliance with ISO 17025 standards across all laboratory activities.
– Coordinating and leading INAB and internal audit processes.
– Managing non-conformance investigations and reporting for MQC/AQC results.
– Maintaining calibration schedules and documentation for laboratory equipment.
– Overseeing PT schemes, including scheduling and result trending.
– Developing and updating SOPs and providing quality-focused training to the team.
– Handling customer queries related to quality and testing outcomes.
Required Experience
– A Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology.
– 2-3 years of practical experience in an ISO 17025 accredited microbiology laboratory.
– Demonstrated experience in quality control procedures and audit preparation.
– Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical report writing.
– Must have the right to work in Ireland and be fluent in English.
