Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of purchased components and materials used in development and manufacturing. This position requires strong communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders, as well as expertise in conducting supplier audits and managing supplier quality performance. The person selected for this role will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and compliance, ensuring that all supplied materials meet the required specifications, regulatory and industry standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality of Purchased Components and Materials:
Ensure that all purchased components and materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Conduct inspections and tests on incoming materials to verify their quality and compliance.
Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues.
Communication with Suppliers:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Provide feedback to suppliers on quality performance and areas for improvement.
Communicate quality requirements and expectations to suppliers.
Supplier Audits:
Plan and conduct supplier audits to assess their quality management systems and processes.
Evaluate supplier capabilities and performance to ensure compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
Prepare audit reports and follow up on corrective actions to address audit findings.
Supplier Quality Management:
Monitor and evaluate supplier quality performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
Implement and manage supplier quality improvement programs.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for supplier-related quality issues.
End-of-Life (EOL) Notifications:
Manage end-of-life notifications for purchased materials and components.
Evaluate the impact of EOL notifications on product quality and manufacturing processes.
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with EOL materials.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier quality performance, audits, and corrective actions.
Prepare and present quality reports to management and other stakeholders.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure supplier quality aligns with overall company objectives.
Provide support and guidance to suppliers on quality-related matters.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 8 years in industry. Proven experience in supplier quality engineering regulated by ISO9001 or similar standards.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of quality management systems and industry standards. Experience in conducting supplier audits and managing supplier quality performance. Understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes. Knowledge of international regulations for semiconductor industry, pressurized gases, vacuum equipment and hazardous chemicals.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics and quality management software. Ability to summarize and analyze data. Experience with statistical analysis and data analytics.
Communications skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Root cause analysis: Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Travel: Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed.

Other Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds.
Must be willing and able to work in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Ability to work in an ISO Class 6 cleanroom with required cleanroom garb.
This role requires working with dangerous and toxic liquids and gaseous chemicals and strictly following all safety protocols.

What We Offer:

The salary range for this position is $105,000 – $130,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
