As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be a part of an agile team where your responsibility will be to ensure quality by developing and executing functional and non-functional tests for new features and products.
Your role will be to serve as a liaison between business and development ensuring new features match business and user needs. You will be regularly taking part in project communication helping the team not only spot issues but also prevent them by analyzing the root cause of defects and their nature. You will have an opportunity to influence the development and testing process by raising your concerns and providing your vision and feedback during daily communication and retrospective sessions. The project team consists of a proactive group of people who believe in the idea of cross-functional teams and Agile software development.
Responsibility
- Provide independent testing and review for applications that are undergoing transition to new technologies
- Spot differences between iOS, Android, and old and new versions of the application
- Consult regarding application UI/UX, functionality completeness, report defects, and inconsistencies, and suggest application improvements
- Conduct regression, mobile-specific testing, UI/UX, conditions, and interruption testing.
- Create a review plan. Develop manual test scenarios and test suites. Maintain test documentation
- Communicate findings and justify suggested improvements
- Analyze product requirements, analyze competitors, and provide support to the Product Owner
- Report on the manual testing results and possible risks
- Support the full cycle of defect tracking & management
- Functional API testing and creation of team API portfolio
- Support new system releases by performing regression and smoke testing
- Contribute to project documentation & knowledge base maintenance
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process & product testing strategy
Requirements
- At least 3 years of proven experience in Quality Assurance & Testing
- Understanding of QA processes, approaches, methodologies, and ability to apply the knowledge to daily operations. Ability to draft and organize basic testing at various stages and levels
- Experience producing test assets (requirements gathering, test cases, test scenarios).
- Experience with software testing (Functional, Integration, Regression, Integration, Smoke, User Acceptance Testing)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand multi-component systems and test them within integration and system levels
- Experience in testing complex integrated systems; understanding of how client-server applications work and how given architecture impacts testing activities and test design
- Basic business analysis skills – the ability to conduct system analysis and compare our application with competitors
- Deep understanding of mobile testing and its specifics
- Ability to provide consultancy on test devices lab composition considering devices and operation system features. Be aware of new devices and OS releases, and analyze their features
- Ability to build applications, use IDE tools to track logs, memory leaks and use other available profiling tools
- Knowledge of network-inspection tools like Charles, Fiddler, etc
- Understand basic UI/UX principles (e.g. Nielsen heuristics, UI kits along mobile best practices)
- Know & track recent developer news and store providers' application requirements
- Understanding of basic WEB/API/Mobile vulnerabilities. Ability to test using specialized tools (e.g. OWASP MAS checklist)
- Hands-on experience with API testing. Understanding of REST concept and constraints. Ability to escalate issues caused by ignorance of API and web development practices
- Understanding of core Web technologies and concepts, including application layer protocols (specifically HTTP), DNS, proxy, caching, cookies, etc
- Knowledge of API types and contact testing. Advanced Postman skills (or alternative tool / code-based framework for API testing), including usage of variables, collection runner, mocking, test flows, and basic JS for pre-condition, and assertion. Ability to design API portfolio and proper collection management, including API change management
- Experience with different authentication and authorization types. Ability to perform basic security trimming tests via API using Postman
- Basic SQL knowledge that includes CRUD operations and theoretical knowledge about the functioning of relational databases
