Job Title:Junior QA Consultant
Location:Atlanta, GA
Work Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite at least 1 day per week)
Short Description:
Under direct supervision, the Junior QA Consultant will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting applications and systems, and executing a wide array of testing procedures. The consultant will also support test planning, documentation, and execution for various custom application and GIS components.
Job Responsibilities:
Test and validate custom software applications, including GIS components.
Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business analysts, developers, project managers, vendors).
Conduct manual and automated testing throughout the development lifecycle.
Participate in agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.
Perform defect tracking, reporting, and participate in defect triage meetings.
Report testing progress and issues to QA Lead weekly.
Assist with preparation and execution of UAT scenarios.
Create and manage Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM).
Validate applications before and after production deployment.
Ensure full test coverage and maintain QA standards and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of QA experience in software development projects.
Experience testing mid-to-large scale systems and application functions.
Proficiency in using test management and tracking tools like GitHub, TFS, JIRA, ServiceNow.
Strong skills in reviewing system specifications and documenting test results.
Solid understanding of STLC, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
Capable of manual and automated testing; knowledge of test automation is a plus.
Analytical skills in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and defect identification.
Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with mobile testing is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Public sector experience.
Professional certifications such as:
ISTQB – International Software Testing Qualifications Board
CSTE – Certified Software Test Engineer
CAST – Certified Associate in Software Testing
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
