Mortgage Quality Control Auditor
As a Mortgage Quality Control Auditor, you will have the opportunity to join Tomo’s growing mortgage operations team! Leveraging established underwriting guidelines, you will evaluate borrower financial and credit information along with property valuations to inform lending decisions. You will collaborate closely with leadership and members of the operations team throughout the Pre-Funding and Post-Close processes to ensure loans meet the highest quality standards.
What you’ll do:
Ensure all loans are underwritten and decisioned in accordance with agency-conforming guidelines
Verify that loans comply with insurer, guarantor, and agency requirements (FNMA, FHLMC, etc.)
Confirm loans meet the standards of private institutional investors and internal company policies
Review and validate complete and accurate financial documentation, including credit and legal documents
Analyze applicant income, assets, credit reports, and property valuations to assess loan eligibility
Review appraisal reports and resolve any discrepancies
Calculate qualifying ratios, determine creditworthiness, and provide risk-based underwriting opinions
What Makes You a Great Fit:
7+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting and quality control
Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA)
Strong understanding of the end-to-end mortgage lending process
Ability to perform complex loan calculations (DTI, LTV, etc.)
Skilled at managing multiple files and tasks simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
Leadership experience is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
VA LAPP/SAR/DE Certifications
Experience working with Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac

This is a remote role based in the United States.
Compensation:
The expected annual salary for this role is between $85,000 – $100,000 USD.
