New Product Development (NPD) Quality Engineer

We're looking for an experienced NPD Quality Engineer to lead the quality aspects of new product development within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Programme Management and customers, you'll ensure the successful launch of new products by driving quality, process compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the APQP lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quality activities throughout the NPD/APQP process from concept through to production.
- Manage PPAP submissions, Safe Launch activities, and customer quality requirements.
- Drive Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) and implement robust corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Support design, process and supplier quality activities to achieve zero-defect product launches.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Programme teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Champion continuous improvement and capture lessons learned for future programmes.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Automotive Quality or New Product Development.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC and GD&T.
- Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and automotive quality systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills using 8D, 5 Why and Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Six Sigma Green Belt (desirable).
