How can you support us? Here are below your responsibilities:
- Perform welding inspections in accordance with approved Quality Control Plans (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) onboard offshore pipelaying vessels or at Line pipes double-jointing yard.
- Verify welding parameters, consumables, and equipment calibration to ensure compliance with approved WPS.
- Review and verify the validity of WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records prior to and during welding operations.
- Witness mechanical testing, destructive testing, and other inspections related to welding activities.
- Ensure welding, heat treatment, and hardness testing are carried out in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections, pipeline line-up checks, fit-up inspections, and material traceability verification.
- Review NDT reports (RT, UT, MT, PT) and coordinate with NDT personnel to ensure timely identification and disposition of defects.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports, punch lists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs), and maintain welding/inspection records for As-Built documentation.
- Liaise with production, and client representatives to resolve welding-related issues and ensure inspection schedules are met.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as a welding inspector for double-jointing/offshore pipelay operations involving CRA line pipes.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Welding Inspector in construction, fabrication, and/or offshore projects
- Strong working knowledge of welding processes, procedures, and welder qualification requirements
- Familiarity with relevant welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API, ISO, DNV)
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification (e.g., CSWIP, AWS CWI, IWI) – valid and current
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and inspection documents
- Experience conducting visual inspections and reviewing NDT reports (e.g., RT, UT, MT, PT)
- Strong documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills
- Good command of English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work on-site, including offshore/remote locations as required
- Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety standards
