Job Purpose: The overall purpose of the Operations Manager role is to supervise the provision of fuelling operations, depot maintenance, engineering projects, inventory management and customer service at the assigned depots, recruit and manage customers.

Key Responsibilities

Business Performance:Operations Excellence/Stock Management

Lead and manage the fueling operations at all wet depots. Monitor and ensure adequate product inventory to service customers at all the depots.

Oversee depot operations including product receipt, inventory control and accounting and product quality control

Conduct operations by undertaking planned loss prevention systems thereby ensuring Operational Excellence

Ensure implementation of aviation/retail inspection recommendations, audits and policies.

Coordinating with procurement to ensure that correct item specifications are purchased locally and from abroad e.g. refueling equipment.

Daily monitoring of stock levels and ordering process to eliminate stock outs.

Implement SAP real time transactions (MM and SD)

Investigate and advise depots staff on abnormal losses and gains at the facilities. Recommend remedial action.

Business Efficiency

Ensure that all plant and equipment at the depots are optimally maintained and availed for operations through the implementation of planned maintenance programs.

Carry out fuel quality control checks, pressure control checks, host test, Millipore test, Meter test, meter calibration, gravimetric test, and strainer checks are constantly performed.

Assist in developing outsourced contracts for fuel and associated support services including preparation of Statements of Work, technical evaluations, requisitioning, preparation of presentations to Local Contracts Committee (LCC), contract quality control and quality assurance, accounting and invoicing verification

Preparation of tenders and recruit customers to create set sales revenue and margins

Compliance

Strictly carry out depot operations in accordance with operational procedures and Health Safety Security & Environmental (HSSE) standards.

Provide HSSE Leadership during HSSE meetings/communications, airport inspections, walkabouts, incident and potential incident reporting, and emergency response.

Ensure operations complies with all regulations (e.g. taxation and custom department guidelines), and that all non-compliance issues are closed out.

Ensure real time PM transactions in SAP

People Management

Provide leadership to staff, coach, mentor and develop a high performing team that delivers added value and cost reductions

Participate fully in sales – lead Sales/Supply/Ops initiative to ensure smooth communication across these interfaces within Aviation, with particular focus on maximising information sharing for key tenders.Manage staff attendance, leave scheduling and disciplinary issues as per the outlined policies and procedures

At least level 5 driving license.

Job Experience:

Degree in technical fields preferably Transport/mechanical/civil/chemical/mechatronic engineering

At least 5 years relevant working experience oil and gas industry

Good knowledge of key aviation and retail processes, roles and responsibilitiesGood knowledge on depot operations or Supply Chain management
