Our client is looking for an Organic Analyst to work within a UKAS accredited laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work independently to carry out lab analysis.
• Always follow good lab practices, including proper methods, procedures, safety rules, and equipment use.
• Follow the lab’s quality standards, especially those required by UKAS (ISO
17025) and MCERTS.
• Keep all work records up to date and stored properly.
• Regularly check and maintain lab equipment, record the results, and report any problems to your manager quickly.
• Be open to change and take responsibility for improving your own skills and career.
• Understand how the lab’s testing methods work, and help train new staff when needed.
• Support your manager in reaching the department’s goals for quality and productivity.
• Manage your own workload well so you meet customer needs and team goals.
• Do any other tasks your senior managers ask you to do.
• Help the Team Leader review lab documents (like procedures and forms) every 4 years.
• Look into any failed or repeated PT (proficiency testing) results
• Check into repeated problems or warnings
• Review monthly QC (
quality control
) charts and check if test limits need updating.
• Investigate any other problems or issues recorded in the Issues Log.
• Perform equipment calibration if you’re trained for it.
Requirements:
• Experience of working in a high pressure production driven environment
• Experience of Laboratory procedures, principles, methods and instrumentation
• Good understanding of scientific principles
• Experienced in GCMS, LCMS or any other organic techniques
• Computer literacy – specifically knowledge of Microsoft excel and Word
• Thorough experience and understanding of working to UKAS standards
