A global leader in nutritional products is seeking a Packaging Quality Specialist to join its International Supplier Quality team on a two-year contract. Renowned for its commitment to quality, safety and innovation, this organisation manufactures premium nutrition products that support people from infancy through to adulthood.

The Packaging Quality Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring packaging materials and suppliers consistently meet world-class quality, compliance and food safety standards. This is a highly collaborative and hands-on position, working closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain and supplier partners to drive packaging quality performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing supplier quality performance, approvals and ongoing supplier compliance
- Investigating packaging and material quality issues and driving corrective and preventative actions
- Supporting supplier audits, risk assessments and quality improvement programmes
- Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to improve supplier capability and packaging performance
- Supporting packaging validation, supplier qualification and change management activities
- Driving continuous improvement projects across packaging and quality systems
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams both locally and globally

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, quality-focused thinking and outstanding relationship-building skills.
To be considered, applicants will ideally possess:
- A degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related discipline
- 3-5 years’ experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, supplier quality or quality assurance environments
- Practical experience working with packaging materials, packaging processes or packaging suppliers
- Experience investigating quality issues and driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Exposure to supplier audits, quality systems, compliance programmes and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative approach and ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams
- Willingness to travel within New Zealand as required
