Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented LCS Test Specialist to support Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) testing, integration, and engineering events. This role requires close coordination with NIWC, Lockheed Martin (LM), and other stakeholders to ensure successful test execution, documentation, and issue resolution for the LCS platform and its variants.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and coordinate RFI inputs to NIWC.

Liaise with LM/NIWC for SDREN checks prior to formal NLC testing.

Ensure all Test Procedures and T3 scenarios are available and on-site for testing.

Understand and execute NLC procedures from an LCS perspective.

Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of LCS platform capabilities, limitations, and applicable Change Requests (CRs/CPCRs) for the C-21 Baseline.

Answer technical and procedural questions during testing by NIWC.

Conduct and execute tests as directed by NIWC, including all scenarios, OASIS execution, and console operations.

Assist NIWC in determining LCS-supported capabilities.

Identify and communicate existing issues or open Trouble Reports (TRs) against the platform.

Maintain professionalism and clear communication with NIWC TDs, providing constructive feedback on any observed errors.

Support all scheduled NCT events for 1-2 week periods.

Additional Duties:

Represent LCS during all IDCT/ICAG events, with a strong understanding of interoperability issues.

Draft white papers to support potential upgrades to LCS variants.

Participate in local and system-level Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) regarding open
issues.

Review NCT Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), test reports, and daily situation reports
(Sitreps).

Review PRRPs and Test Procedures for the Independence variant.

Support engineering events to determine new baseline builds and provide technical
recommendations.

Provide support for shipboard events (BT, AT, FCT, CSSQT, etc.) and installations as
required.

Develop and present shipboard installation briefs.

Support IWS 80 and participate in relevant meetings.

Support Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) as required.

Conduct PRRP/VTP testing for the Indy variant.

Support integration events across all platforms.

Learn and support all aspects of the L&S lab, including simulation and stimulation activities.

Review all MP/CMS proposed changes and submit NLC Extension requests to NIWC as
software changes are implemented in C-21 and ICMS SW Builds.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is desired
5+ years of experience with LCS platforms, naval systems, or related defense systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of LCS operational procedures, test execution, and
troubleshooting.

Familiarity with NIWC processes and Navy test environments.

Strong technical writing skills for drafting reports and white papers.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively and
professionally with diverse teams.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to travel frequently (up to 30%) for off-site events.

Experience with SDREN, OASIS, and console operations.

Previous experience supporting NCT, IDCT, ICAG, or similar Navy test events.

Prior involvement in configuration management and change control processes.

Experience with simulation/stimulation labs and integration testing.

U.S. Citizenship is Required

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
