Job Description
Job Title: Medical Technician/Medical Laboratory Technician (MT/MLT) – Laboratory
Job Summary: A Medical Technician/Medical Laboratory Technician (MT/MLT) working in the laboratory is responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They work under the supervision of a medical laboratory technologist or pathologist.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collect and prepare specimens for testing
2. Perform routine and complex laboratory tests
3. Analyze test results and report findings to healthcare providers
4. Maintain laboratory equipment and quality control procedures
5. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
6. Assist with training and mentoring of new laboratory staff
7. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in laboratory science
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
2. MT/MLT certification from an accredited program
3. Clinical laboratory experience preferred
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
6. Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
7. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and computer systems
