Film Lab Technician
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Film Lab Technician to oversee all aspects of in-house film processing. This role is responsible for handling film development, scanning, and ensuring high-quality results for our customers. As the point person for our film lab, you will manage workflow, maintain equipment, and provide excellent customer service to film enthusiasts and professionals alike.
Responsibilities:
Develop and process film in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
Scan and digitize film negatives, ensuring high-resolution output and color accuracy.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment, including film processors and scanners.
Manage film processing workflow to ensure efficient turnaround times.
Inspect processed film for quality control and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Assist customers with film-related inquiries, providing knowledgeable and friendly service.
Maintain an organized and clean lab environment, following safety and chemical handling protocols.
Stay up to date on film photography trends, techniques, and industry advancements.
Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
Track and manage inventory of lab supplies, including chemicals, paper, and film stock.
Handle occasional rush orders or special processing requests.
Document processes and maintain accurate records of lab operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with film processing and scanning (C-41, B&W, and E-6 experience preferred).
Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
Familiarity with film scanning software and post-processing techniques.
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain lab equipment.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of photographic principles, including color correction and exposure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a photo lab or similar film-processing environment.
Knowledge of analog photography, darkroom techniques, and archival preservation.
Basic Photoshop or Lightroom skills for minor adjustments to scanned images.

Pay: $35,000.00 – $43,500.00 per year
