Quality Control Manager

Overview:

This is a site-based position reporting administratively to the Project Manager and functionally to the Corporate Quality Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of CAM’s Quality Control and Assurance program, with a focus on semiconductor construction standards, ISO cleanroom protocols, orbital welding, and progressive turnover documentation.

Position Summary:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the overall quality performance of the project, implementation of the Quality Management Plan, and integration of CAM’s Management System on site. You will ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, client specifications, and industry best practices—ultimately supporting safe, defect-free project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as CAM’s on-site lead for all quality-related activities on semiconductor construction projects.
Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan aligned with cleanroom and semiconductor-specific standards.
Ensure project activities meet ISO 14644-1 and ISO 14644-2 standards for cleanroom construction and maintenance.
Monitor and verify orbital welding activities, ensuring full compliance with AWS/ASME codes and client-specific specifications.
Oversee progressive turnover documentation, working closely with construction, commissioning, and client representatives.
Maintain strict cleanroom compliance protocols, ensuring all personnel adhere to gowning, particle control, and contamination prevention procedures.
Perform quality inductions and provide ongoing training specific to semiconductor fabrication environments.
Develop and approve ITPs, check sheets, and surveillance plans to support work package quality requirements.
Lead quality audits, inspections, and NCR investigations, identifying trends and corrective actions.
Collaborate with corporate SMEs and third-party agencies on welder qualifications, WPS approvals, and NDE coordination.
Ensure accurate and timely document control in accordance with both CAM and client systems.
Attend internal and external project meetings, providing updates on quality KPIs, issues, and improvements.
Support vendor quality assurance during procurement of cleanroom-specific systems and components.
Capture and report on Lessons Learned and quality risk mitigations.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in quality control management, including 5+ years directly in semiconductor construction or advanced manufacturing environments.
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (required).
Proven experience with orbital welding, vacuum and high-purity piping, and cleanroom installations.
Strong knowledge of ISO Class 5 cleanroom requirements and monitoring systems.
Working familiarity with AWS, ASME, ANSI, ACI, and ASNT codes.
Direct experience with turnover processes, cleanroom documentation protocols, and system walkdowns.
Effective communicator and leader with experience working on high-stakes, multi-stakeholder projects.
Strong technical writing and documentation review skills.
Relevant trade or inspection certification in mechanical, piping, HVAC, NDT, or cleanroom construction.
Lead Auditor certification and/or audit management experience (preferred).
High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access a plus) and project QA/QC tracking tools.
Willingness to work in a high-demand, fast-paced semiconductor project setting.
