About Our Client
Our client is an established contract manufacturing facility specializing in liquid fill personal care and beauty products. With a strong focus on quality control and customer satisfaction, they maintain strict microbiological standards and operate under FDA, ISO, and cGMP regulations.
The Person al Care Microbiologist will play a crucial role in implementing and managing a comprehensive microbiological quality control program for liquid fill product lines. This position offers the opportunity to develop standardized testing procedures, establish monitoring protocols, and ensure compliance with USP standards while maintaining product quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement standardized testing procedures for USP 60, 61, and 62 testing across different product categories
Establish systematic sampling schedules for raw materials, in-process testing, and finished product validation
Create and maintain environmental monitoring programs, including sampling point mapping and alert/action limits
Perform streak plate testing and precise colony counting with dual verification systems
Generate weekly quality reports and maintain detailed documentation in both paper and electronic formats
Lead quality investigations for out-of-specification results and implement corrective actions
Write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Collaborate with the Plant Hygienist on facility-wide monitoring integration
Coordinate with production schedules for optimal sampling times
Participate in daily test result reviews and weekly quality metrics evaluations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology (preferred) or Biology with strong personal care industry experience
4-5 years of industry experience in personal care microbiology
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing or regulated industry settings
Strong knowledge of FDA, ISO, and cGMP regulations
Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
Expert-level knowledge of aseptic techniques and environmental monitoring principles
Ability to troubleshoot microbiological concerns within manufacturing
Strong documentation and communication skills
Experience with quality control metrics and trend analysis
