Crescent Manufacturing is seeking an afternoon shift Quality Assurance Technician. All training will be conducted on day shift.
This position is responsible for inspecting products at different phases in the manufacturing process to ensure that specifications meet a set of defined. The duties include but are not limited to performing visual inspections of in-process parts, recording and documenting quality issues, performing incoming raw material inspections, and preparing Certificates of Compliance (CoC) reports, etc…
Quality Assurance Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
Our Quality Assurance Technicians are responsible for guaranteeing the quality of our products. The day-to-day work involves careful inspections and the enforcement of quality standards. Other essential duties and responsibilities in quality assurance include:
Inspecting and documenting all incoming raw materials to ensure that they are meeting our quality standards.
Ensuring that all first pieces for new parts into machines are prepared correctly and meet the part specific quality specifications.
Assist in maintaining the calibration of all quality tools and all calibration record requirements.
Communicating with other team members to solve problems.
Following up with the appropriate channels when mistakes are found.
Training other quality insurance members on all inspection processes.
Quality Assurance Technician Job Skills and Qualifications:
Quality Assurance Technicians are experts at closely monitoring production specifications and documenting their findings to ensure that mistakes are properly logged and sent off to be fixed. Doing this task successfully requires numerous skills and qualifications, including:
A keen eye for detail
Able to use microscopes, micrometers, calipers, etc…
Communication skills
Computer literacy, in particular Microsoft Excel and Access.
Database management
The ability to consistently identify mistakes across many types of inspections
The ability to closely follow quality standards
Decision-making skills
Quality Assurance Technician Wages:
The starting wage for a Quality Assurance Technician is $17.46 per hour in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement with the Local No. 959, International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agriculture Implement Workers of America.
Quality Assurance Technician Experience Requirements:
Quality Assurance Technician applicants should have some experience in a related field, but not required. All applicants Quality Assurance Technicians will receive on-the-job training during first shift to better acquaint them with Crescent’s quality assurance best practices.
