The basic function of the position is to perform and document inspection of machined components for aerospace industry. You need to knowledgeable of all areas of Dimensional Inspection, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, and AS9100 Quality Management System protocols. You need to be detailed oriented, highly organized, creative, flexible and a great team player.
Education and/or Experience:
Thorough knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Blueprint Callouts, either from formal training or on the job experience.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with dimensional inspection.
Minimum of 2 years in a AS9100 Quality System.
Responsibilities:
Verify part accuracy through mechanical measurement methods using precision measurement equipment, such as surface plates, height stands, micrometers, comparators, etc.
Compile Documents from all production and special processing certifications to provide to customer.
Complete First Article Inspection Reports of production and upload to Net-Inspect.
Additionally support in-process and first piece inspection for complex dimensional characteristics.
Work with Production personnel to assist in investigation and correction of out of tolerance conditions.
Work with Engineering and Quality personnel to verify product conformance, while ensuring accuracy.
Use measurement methods satisfying ASME Y14.5 standard practices and recommend actions for improvement.
Clean, maintain, calibrate measuring instruments.
