We have an immediate requirement for Process Technologist in Port Moresby, reporting to the OpCo Technological Manager.

The Process Technologist will ensure effective control of materials and processes to achieve consistent product quality, process stability and compliance with SP Brewery and HEINEKEN standards.

The role will support Production, Utilities and Logistics by monitoring process performance, troubleshooting deviations, driving continuous improvement, and strengthening technical competence and quality ownership across the shop floor. The position will also support the delivery of high-quality products at the lowest sustainable cost while enhancing customer and consumer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements and promote safe working practices.
  • Ensure strict compliance with raw material, process and finished-product specifications.
  • Monitor process performance and troubleshoot deviations affecting quality, cost or process stability.
  • Track First-Time-Right performance and promptly escalate negative trends.
  • Lead structured problem-solving and improvement initiatives to address recurring quality and process issues.
  • Promote shop-floor excellence through process confirmation, standard routines and technical leadership.
  • Coach and train shop-floor employees to strengthen technical competence and quality ownership.
  • Conduct routine process, quality, GMP and compliance audits.
  • Ensure products are brewed and packaged in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and HEINEKEN quality standards.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of FSSC 22000, ISO 9001 and other applicable management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with cleaning, disinfection and hygiene standards across Brewing, Packaging and Utilities.
  • Organize and administer required process checks, tests, audits, training and technical reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, process performance, losses and operating costs.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Food Science/Technology, Chemical or Process Engineering, Industrial Management, or another relevant science or applied-science discipline.
  • Knowledge of brewing or beverage-processing technology, process equipment, food safety, packaging technology and packaging materials.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Total Productive Management, Quality Management Systems and food-safety management systems.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in process technology, quality or manufacturing, preferably within the brewing, beverage or food industry.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Quality-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work effectively across functions.
