The Product Safety Specialist in the Masterbatch industry is responsible for ensuring that all products meet safety regulations, industry standards, and meet customer requirements. This role involves identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety protocols throughout the production process to ensure the safe use and handling of masterbatch products.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Safety Evaluation: Conduct thorough safety evaluations of masterbatch formulations, raw materials, and final products to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential hazards associated with products and production processes, providing mitigation strategies to reduce risk.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on national and international safety regulations (REACH, RoHS, OSHA, etc.) and ensure that products meet all legal requirements.
Safety Testing and Documentation: Perform safety testing of materials and products, document findings, and generate reports to support compliance and customer inquiries.
Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to integrate safety into product development and manufacturing processes.
Training and Awareness: Provide training to staff on safety practices and ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Customer Support: Address customer inquiries related to product safety and provide technical support regarding safety documentation, such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Experience in product safety or regulatory compliance within the chemicals or plastics industry.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards and safety protocols, including REACH, RoHS, and OSHA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments and engaging with customers.
