Job Summary
The MRB Technician is responsible for managing nonconforming material through the Material Review Board process. This role ensures timely identification, documentation, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming parts and assemblies, working closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review and analyze nonconforming material reports (NCMRs) for completeness and accuracy.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain) for MRB review and disposition decisions (e.g., rework, scrap, use-as-is, return to vendor).
Accurately log and track MRB items in the appropriate quality management system (QMS).
Physically manage and organize nonconforming inventory in the MRB area, ensuring proper labeling and segregation.
Assist Quality Engineers and leads in investigating root causes and developing corrective actions.
Communicate disposition decisions and ensure timely closure of NCMRs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality audits as needed.
Generate reports and metrics on MRB trends for review by management.
Required Skills & Abilities
Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
Previous experience in heavy equipment or automotive manufacturing environment
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality-related roles
Familiarity with nonconformance handling and MRB processes
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor)
Working conditions
Working conditions may include working outside of a climate-controlled environment for long periods of time.
PPE is required while on production floors.
Physical requirements
Walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
