Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inspector to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. The Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of wastewater treatment projects. The ideal candidate will have an inspection background and willing to grow and learn on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Observation: Monitor and document the Contractor’s on-site activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety requirements, and environmental standards.
Contract Compliance: Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFI’s and change orders for technical accuracy and field applicability.
CoordinationLiaison: Serve as a daily point of contact between the Contractor, Engineer, and Owner. Assist in interpreting plans and resolving technical issues as they arise in the field.
Scheduling Support: Track project milestones, critical path activities, and identify scheduling conflicts or delays.
Field Documentation: Maintain daily field reports, photo logs, marked-up record drawings, and issue logs.
MaterialEquipment Inspection: Verify that all materials and equipment conform to approved submittals and are properly stored, handled, and installed.
MeetingsCommunication: Attend progress meetings, site walks, and inspections. Provide field input for pay applications and monthly progress reports.
QA/QC Support: Assist in enforcing quality standards and identifying corrective measures when construction deviates from design intent.
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering (or related field preferred).
5+ years of relevant experience in construction observation, field engineering, or construction management-preferably in water/wastewater infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and utility infrastructure.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and field reporting software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification a plus.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as an inspector and/or project management role.
Proficiency in inspection software and reporting tools.
