Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to oversee, implement and enhance the quality management system of our established small parts manufacturing business. We specialize in close tolerance, turned parts for medical, dental and electronic industries. This individual would be responsible for ensuring all products and services meet established quality standards by maintaining procedures for inspection, testing and analysis while collaborating with Shop Foreman to identify and address quality issues, ultimately aiming to maintain customer satisfaction and optimize operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate has understanding of manufacturing processes and production techniques, blue print comprehension and experience in mechanical measurement techniques using micrometers, calipers and optical comparators.
Understanding and management of established quality system and standards aligned with ISO 9001. Operation and management of First Article approval process and final inspection/measurement process. Collecting and analyzing quality data to identify trends, qualify machine capabilities and generate reports with Excel and custom Access database.
Evaluate and manage the quality of products and services provided by external suppliers.
Educate employees on quality standards, procedures and best practices.
Setting and tracking key performance indicators (KPI’s) related to quality to assess effectiveness and identify areas of improvement.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with our various teams, suppliers and customers.
Duties
Develop, implement, and maintain quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001.
Oversee the quality inspection processes for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Manage documentation related to quality systems, including procedures, work instructions, and records.
Train and mentor staff on quality assurance practices and principles.
Lead projects aimed at improving product quality and operational efficiency.
Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Proven experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001.
Experience with QA/QC processes and methodologies.
Proficient in conducting quality audits and inspections.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
