Overview
Within the Mission and Strategic Plan established for Friendship Industries, Inc. and Able Solutions, Inc., the Quality Assurance Manager is to oversee our quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems and FDA regulations to maintain high-quality standards throughout our manufacturing processes. This role is essential in fostering a culture of quality within the organization and ensuring that our products meet both internal and external quality expectations.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Create an environment that ensures employees feel valued and respected
Act as a role model of professionalism, ethical behavior, and effective decision-making at all times to support our mission and ongoing business strategies
Conduct regular quality audits to assess compliance with established standards and regulations
Oversee quality inspection processes to ensure that all products meet the required specifications before they reach customers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze quality data and implement corrective actions as necessary
Use a risk-based approach to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and adherence to the Quality Management System. Collaborate with production teams to develop and implement risk reduction strategies
Ensure adherence to FDA regulations throughout all stages of production.
Lead training sessions for staff on QA/QC practices and promote awareness of quality standards
Manage documentation related to quality assurance activities, including reports on findings from inspections and audits
Serve as champion / owner of the Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure that the QMS is maintained and look for ways to improve
Build strong, collaborative working relationships with production teams. A key focus should be building capability / understanding in others
Schedule internal audits, ensuring audits are being performed consistently and to the same standard
Communicate with customers on quality related issues
Serve as the point of contact for audits (customer, Food Safety, FDA – Medical)
Understand the quality requirements for Food Safety and Medical Safety and ensure they are being followed
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or deviations from standards
Conduct Quality inspections; perform internal audits per Quality Management System
Conduct incident investigations (5 Why Methodology), ensuring they are completed in a satisfactory manner
Conduct Mock Recall and Traceability exercises
Identify and document non-conforming products or processes, and work with the production team to implement corrective actions
Assists teammates when questions about quality or safety arise
Maintain accurate records of inspection results, testing data, and other quality-related documentation
Supervise 1-2 direct reports

Education/Experience Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in a manufacturing or a related field
Proven experience in a Quality Assurance role or 3-5 years working in a manufacturing or production environment
Strong knowledge of quality audits
Experience with implementing and managing quality systems within an organization
Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a focus on quality outcomes
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring thorough evaluation of processes and products
Computer literacy, ability to work in Microsoft Applications
Ability to write procedures, policies, etc.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
Experience working or volunteering with at risk/vulnerable adults
General knowledge and competence in HRIS, GMP, Lean, and ISO

Environmental Exposure

Office & Warehouse Packaging Environment

Physical Requirements

Must wear and use safety and protective equipment
Must be able to stand frequently, walk, bend, twist, reach, kneel, and sit

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $58,000.00 per year
