About the Opportunity

The QA Automation Engineer role is responsible for developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks that support cloud-based applications, especially within Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality software through automation of API, UI, and integration tests. The role significantly contributes to improving software reliability and performance, facilitating faster release cycles and reducing defects. It also involves collaboration within Agile teams and integration of testing practices into continuous integration and deployment pipelines, making the testing process efficient and aligned with development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain reusable test automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and TestNG for web, API, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Create and automate test cases for Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and Azure-based applications covering frontend and backend components.
  • Implement and execute automated regression, smoke, integration, and performance tests.
  • Conduct black box and other relevant testing methods when automation is insufficient or not feasible.
  • Participate in design discussions and requirements reviews to provide testing insights.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on defects and collaborate with developers and support teams to prepare timely RCA reports.
  • Utilize AI-based tools and frameworks to enhance automation and defect detection.
  • Work within Agile teams participating in sprint planning, defining acceptance criteria, and sizing user stories.
  • Use Azure DevOps and GitHub for work planning, tracking, and documentation.
  • Integrate automated testing with GitHub Actions for continuous and scheduled test execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in QA and test automation for cloud-based applications (or equivalent software engineering experience with cloud technologies).
  • Proficiency with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, WebDriver Manager, Apache POI, Extent Reports, Lombok, Rest Assured, Jackson Annotations, Feign Client, Microsoft Graph, Azure Identity, IntelliJ, and Jsoup.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and executing automated tests for SharePoint, React applications, and Azure cloud solutions.
  • Strong scripting and coding skills with knowledge of API validation.
  • Experience with GitHub and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred & Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with AI-driven testing tools, Azure AI services, or test data generation utilities.
  • Microsoft certifications related to QA/Test Automation.
  • Experience testing AI-powered applications.
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proven ability to implement continuous testing and quality improvements for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 products, including familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
  • Exposure to performance testing tools and security testing practices.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • High-Cost Geographies: $107,755 – $177,675 base salary per year.
  • (Applies to candidates residing in: Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or Washington D.C.)
  • Standard Geographies: $93,700 – $154,500 base salary per year.
  • Note: Final salary determinations are based on education, experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, and other relevant factors.
