Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and improving food products, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and conducting research to innovate new food technologies. This role requires a strong foundation in food science principles, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Conduct research and development of new food products, ensuring they meet market demands and consumer preferences.
Implement and monitor quality management systems to maintain high standards of food safety.
Utilize HACCP principles to identify potential hazards in food production processes and develop strategies for mitigation.
Perform microbiological testing on food products to ensure they are safe for consumption.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, marketing, and supply chain to facilitate product development from concept to launch.
Analyze data from product testing and provide insights for continuous improvement through root cause analysis.
Sanitate equipment and workspaces to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in food technology.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
Experience in quality assurance or quality management within the food production industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in food safety practices.
Familiarity with product development processes and techniques.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
