Rocket EMS is seeking a self-driven and proactive Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently and will take ownership of the following key responsibilities:

Review and analyze customer documentation, collaborating with customers to address any necessary clarifications or adjustments.
Assess Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI) against customer specifications and recommend improvements to enhance usability and minimize errors.
Proactively analyze daily and historical defect trends, working cross-functionally to reduce or eliminate recurring issues.
Identify inefficiencies or problems in manufacturing processes and propose solutions to optimize operations.
Perform internal audits in compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14001, and ISO 13485) and drive corrective actions to address audit findings.
Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Ensure that all Design for Manufacturability (DFM) issues are resolved before production begins.
Monitor the build process to ensure adherence to established process controls.
Lead process audits to ensure the maintenance of quality standards.
Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.
Collaborate with suppliers and the purchasing team to address supplier quality requirements and resolve quality-related concerns.
Provide training and guidance to operators and QC inspectors to improve team knowledge and quality awareness.
Review deviations to ensure proper understanding and implementation.
Offer suggestions to the Quality Engineering Manager for continuous process and quality improvements.
Experience with APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, and FMEA is highly desirable.
Knowledge of SPC and Measurement System Analysis is a plus.
Lead the execution of quality goals and ensure alignment with internal and external customer requirements.

Education & Experience:

College graduate with 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, or
High school diploma with 5+ years of experience in quality engineering.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Certified in IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 industry workmanship standards.
Strong technical knowledge of PCB assembly processes is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills in English.
J-STD-001 Space Addendum experience is a plus.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and other relevant documentation.
Strong understanding of BOM structures and document control processes.
In-depth knowledge of material traceability.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $81,113.00 – $84,497.00 per year
