About The Role
The QA Lead at Neighborly® will play a pivotal role in driving the quality engineering strategy across our digital platforms, including web and mobile applications, as well as integration systems. This leadership position requires a hands-on approach to shaping testing practices, implementing scalable automation solutions, and fostering a culture of quality within fast-paced, continuous delivery environments. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—engineering, product, and business—to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-performing products that meet customer expectations and business objectives.
The QA Lead will be responsible for establishing and maintaining quality standards, developing comprehensive testing frameworks, and utilizing advanced tools and methodologies—including AI-assisted testing—to proactively identify risks and enhance product stability. This role demands a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate teams across multiple locations and external partners.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QA leadership role within a continuous delivery environment.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Karate, or similar API automation platforms.
- Strong background in testing methodologies, including test planning, estimation, risk analysis, and test case design.
- Experience with large-scale web and mobile applications, including database testing and API validation.
- Familiarity with modern development practices such as Kanban, Agile, and Waterfall.
- Hands-on experience integrating testing processes with CI/CD pipelines to enable shift-left testing.
- Experience working with offshore testing teams and external testing vendors.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of AI-driven testing tools and techniques is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Overall 12+ years of QA experience, including substantial exposure to large-scale digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Embed quality engineering best practices across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), promoting testability, automation, and early defect detection.
- Collaborate with product owners to define clear, measurable, and testable acceptance criteria for all features and releases.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics such as test coverage, defect leakage, and cycle time to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies covering UI, API, integration, and data layers to ensure end-to-end product quality.
- Build, maintain, and scale automation frameworks using modern tools and technologies to accelerate testing processes.
- Leverage AI-assisted testing solutions for test generation, failure analysis, and automation self-healing to enhance efficiency and coverage.
- Integrate testing activities seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable releases.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the delivery pipeline through data-driven insights and process improvements.
- Coordinate with distributed teams and manage external testing partners to ensure consistent quality standards across all projects.
- Provide comprehensive, executive-level reports on quality status, risk assessments, and release readiness.
- Integrate quality signals with observability and production insights to facilitate proactive defect detection and quicker resolution.
