The Role
QA at Connecting Software is a technical, frontline role. You are the first line of defense for our users and the gatekeeper for new feature releases. You will balance technical 1st and 2nd-level support shifts with rigorous testing. This role involves participating in 24/7 support rotations, where you will diagnose issues in the field and ensure our systems meet our standards for performance and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Rotation: Participate in 24/7 shifts and on-call rotations, acting as the first point of contact for customer issues.
- Automated Testing: Design, write, and maintain automated test scripts for APIs and Web UIs. Our goal is 100% automation of regression suites.
- Feature Testing: Perform manual and automated testing on new product releases across cloud and self-hosted environments.
- Technical Diagnostics: Reproduce bugs and provide technical solutions or detailed escalations for the development team.
- Documentation: Build and maintain support runbooks and internal knowledge bases to ensure all activity is traceable.
- Monitoring: Proactively monitor Grafana dashboards during shifts to identify issues before they impact users.
What We’re Looking For
- 1+ years of experience in QA or a technical support role.
- A mindset that favors automation over manual repetition.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs (REST/JSON), and basic .NET environments.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift/stand-by model.
- Work Authorization: Must have the legal right to work in Malaysia at the time of application (we cannot provide visa sponsorship for this location).
Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
- Resolved 70%+ of customer issues at Tier 2 without needing to escalate to the development team.
- Built a comprehensive automated regression suite for core products.
- Created a library of "single-source-of-truth" support runbooks for the local team.
