About The Role

The Quality Assurance Engineer I at Melaleuca is a vital member of our IT team, responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our production deployments, applications, and APIs. This role involves performing comprehensive quality checks during production releases, executing regression testing to verify existing functionalities, and testing new features and development tasks. The engineer will document, track, and validate defects and test artifacts to support continuous improvement. Additionally, this position offers an opportunity to support automation development and maintenance using tools such as Cypress, Power Automate, and various API testing frameworks. The role requires close collaboration with developers and QA team members to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the company's standards and customer expectations. As a remote position, the candidate must reside in Utah or Idaho, with a focus on building automation skills and contributing to process improvements within an agile environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Basic knowledge of QA and testing practices
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to learn new tools and processes quickly
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage assigned work with guidance
  • Interest in automation and process improvement
  • Familiarity with Cypress, Power Automate, or API testing tools
  • Knowledge of JavaScript or other scripting languages
  • Basic SQL and database validation skills
  • Understanding of regression, functional, integration, and API testing
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar tools
  • Testing coursework, projects, or internship experience
  • Exposure to .NET applications, Git, or CI/CD pipelines is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform production deployment quality checks to ensure smooth releases
  • Execute regression testing across applications and APIs to verify stability and functionality
  • Test new features and development tasks to validate their performance and compliance with requirements
  • Document, track, and validate defects and test artifacts to facilitate transparency and continuous improvement
  • Support automation development and maintenance using Cypress, Power Automate, and API testing frameworks
  • Help troubleshoot failed automated tests to identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Collaborate closely with developers and QA team members to ensure high-quality software delivery
  • Build QA and automation skills through ongoing training and hands-on experience
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance testing efficiency
