About the Position

The Assistant Vice President of Supply Chain Pharmacy & Laboratory Services oversees the organizational approach to Pharmaceutical & Laboratory contracting, purchasing, and various quality control functions. Additionally, the AVP provides guidelines, processes, and internal controls related to all pharmaceutical & Laboratory contracts.

The AVP of Supply Chain Pharmacy & Laboratory Services serves as a Pharmacy & Laboratory business advisor; gathering market knowledge and assisting in the development of cost management goals and processes on behalf of the organization.

Responsibilities:
Oversees all contracting of new and existing pharmaceuticals & Laboratory at all Orlando Health owned and affiliated facilities.
Responsible for maintaining relationships and serving as a liaison between GPO, pharmacy & Laboratory suppliers and local pharmacy/Laboratory management teams.
Responsible for coordinating evidence-based recommendations for drug formulary inclusion and exclusion to the Pharmacotherapy Committee through consultation with pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff. Ensures alignment with Pharmacy Council.
Drug shortage sourcing and support of the clinical alternative strategy.
Support supply disruptions and shortages.
Procurement optimization support, partner with acute & non-acute pharmacy and Laboratory leaders.
DSCSA compliance, collaborate with system & site-based pharmacy leaders.
Supply expense management support for all Pharmacy and Laboratory support.
Oversees sourcing staff and analysis for custom Orlando Health contracts and vendor rebates to fill gaps and increase contract coverage for Orlando Health.
In collaboration with other supply chain executives and vendor executives, establishes minimum standards for procurement and product utilization analysis approaches.
Oversees managers including various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Establishes and enforces the policy and procedures regarding pharmaceutical vendor access to Orlando Health facilities.
Enforces vendor compliance with enterprise compliance standards.
Initiates appropriate action in response to vendor’s failure to comply with appropriate policy.
Promotes a philosophy ofo pen communication throughout the corporation with all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required.
Master of Business Administration degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification
Must have a current, valid Pharmacist license

Experience
Minimum of six (6) years experience in hospital pharmacy & Laboratory management.
Must command thorough knowledge of business management, pharmacy laws, 340B regulations, financial management, and purchasing practices.
