Our client is a leading global financial institution with a strong presence in capital markets and a long-standing commitment to operational excellence and technology innovation. We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join their Hong Kong Core Business IT team on a contract basis.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role supporting mission-critical post-trade systems within a regulated securities brokerage environment. The position sits at the intersection of business operations and technology, ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of systems underpinning global trading activities.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Own and drive test strategy, planning, and execution for post-trade systems, ensuring comprehensive coverage across BAU changes and project deliveries.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks, expanding automation coverage across core settlement systems and interfaces.
- Partner closely with business users, operations, and IT teams to understand end-to-end post-trade workflows and translate requirements into effective testing approaches.
- Provide structured testing support across concurrent BAU and project streams, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ensure all testing activities adhere to internal controls, SDLC standards, and audit requirements, with proper documentation and traceability.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of QA experience within securities brokerage, investment banking, or other regulated financial environments.
- Strong understanding of post-trade operations across Equities and Fixed Income, including trade lifecycle, settlement processes, and reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience working with integrated settlement systems (e.g., Gloss, Syn~, Inferno, or similar platforms).
- Proven experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks, with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Experience in performance testing, with the ability to assess system latency, throughput, and stability under load.
- Familiarity with SWIFT messaging standards (MT, MX / ISO 20022 – CBPR+) covering payments, settlements, and reporting flows.
- Experience operating in audit-driven environments with strong awareness of regulatory and control requirements.
- Strong ownership mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across business and technical stakeholders.
