Role Description
As a QA Engineer / Software Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and reliability of software products throughout the development lifecycle. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to identify defects, validate requirements, and ensure software solutions meet business and user expectations.
Your responsibilities include developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios; performing functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing; and documenting, tracking, and verifying defects. You will evaluate software applications across different environments and platforms to ensure performance, usability, compatibility, and stability.
You will analyze requirements, identify potential quality risks, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance testing processes and product quality. The role may also involve supporting test automation efforts, API testing, performance testing, and maintaining testing documentation and quality metrics.
This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions through effective quality assurance practices.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of software quality assurance principles, testing methodologies, and software development lifecycles
- Ability to create, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and testing documentation
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools and issue management processes
- Understanding of web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and software integration concepts
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify, document, reproduce, and communicate software defects effectively
- Knowledge of test automation concepts, frameworks, and tools is an advantage
- Understanding of performance, security, compatibility, and usability testing principles
- Familiarity with databases, SQL queries, and data validation techniques is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple testing activities and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other iterative software development methodologies
- Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement within quality assurance practices
