We are looking for an QA/QC Field Engineer to work on site for the City and County of San Francisco on supporting their ongoing projects, where most projects will include hospitals in San Francisco. Position Description:
Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects, with a focus on hospitals and healthcare facilities
Verify compliance with ACI and ICC standards, ensuring proper materials, placement, and finishing
Perform concrete sampling and testing (e.g., slump, air content, compression tests) and document results
Inspect structural elements such as reinforced concrete, masonry, steel, and wood framing to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications
Conduct special inspections in accordance with California Building Code (CBC), ACI, and ICC standards
Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, test results, and compliance status
Identify and report non-conforming work, issuing recommendations for corrective actions as needed
Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city representatives to resolve construction-related issues efficiently
Ensure adherence to project regulations, particularly in hospital projects
Monitor safety standards and compliance with City and County of San Francisco requirements
Attend project meetings and provide technical insights regarding inspection and testing results
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Required Experience:
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in construction inspection, materials testing, and structural inspection
Experience working on public infrastructure projects for city or county agencies
Required Education:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
ACI Post Installed Anchors, ACI Concrete Sampling, Fireproofing, and other ACI Certification
ICC Certifications. The more certifications create more hours
