We are hiring a Quality Control Manager for our West Point, MS plant to drive the establishing and maintaining of quality standards for all manufacturing projects. Job Summary
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality control systems to ensure continuous production of advanced composite materials and applications consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. This position oversees and supervises the activities of the quality control department and staff.
Responsibilities
Establish, implement, and maintain the company’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards or other relevant quality standards.
Ensure that all quality management policies, procedures, and documentation are current and properly maintained.
Plan and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with the quality management system and identify areas for improvement.
Oversee the quality control team’s activities in inspecting and testing materials and products to ensure they meet established standards.
Investigate and analyze quality issues, implementing corrective actions to resolve product defects and non-conformities.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that incoming materials meet quality specifications and standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop the quality control team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Develop and deliver training programs for staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of quality control staff, providing feedback and taking corrective actions as needed.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future risks.
Develop and deploy multiyear roadmap and strategies for operations, to achieve long terms goals and short-term targets of Global operations for Sustainability, Safety, Quality, Service and Cost and working capital, and to meet business needs.
Actively contribute to overall global manufacturing leadership team to develop and deploy overall manufacturing strategies and initiatives
Experienced in introduction of new products into manufacturing, working with R&D organization to achieve successful product launches.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mathematics.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality control/quality assurance roles, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial position within a manufacturing environment.
Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Black Belt, or related credentials are highly desirable.
Proficiency in quality management software and tools, as well as familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001/AS9100, 13485, Six Sigma).
Must have a well-developed understanding of, and proven experience deploying in a Lean manufacturing environment deploying including 6S, PDCA, Visual management, Standard Work, Kaizen, TPM, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing quality team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address quality issues effectively.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Innovative, with strong focus and proven experience in delivering continuous improvement through introduction of best-in-class manufacturing technologies, manufacturing systems and processes and digital solutions.
