Position Summary

As a Quality & Food Safety Technician, you will perform process checks throughout our Central Production Unit including the production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing functions of the company, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, label checks and net weight checks.

What you will do…

Cover for HACCP Coordinator and/or Director Quality Assurance in case of absence
Oversee and Implement Food Safety and Quality Programs
Audit during production for food safety and quality
Training and coach personnel on Food Safety and Quality
Ensure all applicable Federal, State and Local Regulations are followed
Assist during startups and product development
Review Documents for HACCP and Production for completeness
Conduct daily walks to ensure compliance

Who you are…

Degree preferred or work experience in quality or food safety auditing
Seafood HACCP Certified and/or ability to gain certification within 60 days after hiring
Experience with USDA FSIS food production
Food Manufacturing Quality and Food Safety
Writing and implementing food safety and quality programs
Excellent communication, presentation, and team building skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task to simultaneously complete several projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Additional Information

Flexible to work on other duties outside of your main responsibilities when needed and as assigned
Must be able to work in a chilled environment that is maintained below 40° when required
Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards
Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, wipe, reach, bend and lift.
Subject to lifting up to 50lbs
Exposure to some potential food allergens such as shrimp, soy, nuts/nut products, and sesame.
