Role: Senior Supplier Quality Engineer
Client: DOD-Aerospace
Location: Anniston, AL
Duration: 1- year temp-to-perm
Hourly Rate: up to $50/hr (W2, non-benefited)

Key Responsibilities:
Enforcing purchase order (PO) requirements and managing supplier nonconformances.
Leading supplier performance improvement initiatives through thorough root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
Mentoring junior Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) to support their development.
Evaluating the impact of nonconforming products and assessing the effectiveness of suppliers’ corrective actions.
Championing problem-solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate the recurrence of non-conformances.
Evaluating First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
Reviewing and approving First Article Test plans and reports.
Driving a “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base and promoting the use of A3 problem-solving tools.
Collaborating closely with suppliers to ensure quality expectations are understood and met.
Skills Required:
Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation generation.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T).
Strong working knowledge of Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/ Preventative Actions. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems and AS9102B First Article Requirements or comparable industry standards.
Practical problem solver.
Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and related industry software applications.
Experience Preferred:
Experience in Defense Prime Contract environment.
Experience with product line validation, test plans, test equipment and product qualification.
Specific experience with electrical assemblies for the Defense Industry.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools (e.g. Green / Black Belt).
Toyota Production System (TPS), Toyota Way, A3 problem solving tool.
Education Required:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in and Engineering related field of study and 4 years related work experience, 10 years relative work experience in lieu of education.
