Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist position plays a critical role in the quality department by supporting both quality-related administrative and plant operations. This position is responsible for overseeing all quality parameters of the plant and plant operations as well as the quality technicians. This position will also work closely with the Quality Control Supervisor to complete routine daily paperwork/program tasks as well as any projects, as necessary.

Responsibilities

Oversight of Quality Control Technicians daily tasks
Ensure Quality Control Technicians are properly trained and assist in any training, as needed.
Report important information related to the plant and/or employees to Quality Control Supervisor daily.
Maintain full knowledge of quality paperwork and CCPs.
Review and approving production paperwork daily.
Coordinate and perform environmental swabs as needed by PEM program.
Manage and maintain Hold and Release Log
Perform incoming inspections on loads received at Ceres location.
Organize and scan internal audit paperwork into designated location.
Able to work closely with production and maintenance teams to maintain a dynamic and functioning relationship.
Approve and sign labels as created by Administrative Assistant.
Perform visual sanitation verification inspections and swabbing on lines after sanitation is complete.
Enforce and ensure all food safety and GMP protocols are being followed by employees. Recommend training and opportunities for improvement as needed
Assist Quality Control Supervisor with any projects or tasks as needed, including but not limited to: Supplier Program, Corrective Action Program, Data Analysis, Customer Complaints

Responsibilities are not limited to the above mentioned and may include assisting other departments within reasonable and related tasks

What You Will Need

High school diploma or at least 3 years of equivalent experience in a similar role.
General working knowledge of computers and common software programs, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Must be bilingual (Spanish)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining professionalism.
Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
Ability to professionally manage and lead while still being a team player
Must be available to work a full-time schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (or an equivalent full-time schedule), with the flexibility to adjust hours as needed to meet production demands.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks such as typing, writing, and scanning. Clear communication in English, both verbally and in writing, is essential. Movement within the office and production areas is required to coordinate tasks and deliver materials, with flexibility in schedule needed to meet production demands.

Work Environment

The work environment includes most of time (75%) on production floor. The position involves frequent use of computers and equipment as well as interaction with team members across departments. The environment may vary in temperature, and the employee must be adaptable to changes in pace or work conditions to meet production demands.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
