Working Hours: Monday – Friday: 3:00pm – 12:00am (1 hour break). Overtime if required.

We are a busy fast-growing poultry manufacturing company that requires QA Operative to join the QA team. We require someone who is reliable, hardworking, has excellent communications skills, good attention to detail and has a good understanding of Food Safety.

Job purpose: To ensure food safety, quality and regulatory compliance in our poultry processing facility by performing quality assurance activities, monitoring critical control points and enforcing good manufacturing practices.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct pre-operation and operations sanitary inspections of production areas

Perform, quality checks on work in process and finished products

Monitor and verify critical control points throughout the production process

Ensure adherence to HACCP, GMP and company food safety policies

Participate in internal auditing activities

Assisting to make sure all staff are adhering to current basic policies and procedures within the factory

Accurately complete all required quality assurance paperwork

Document HACCP corrective actions for non-conforming products

Verify production check sheets and maintain records

Identify and report quality issues to a QA manager.

Liaise with production management on the standard of production checks and support production colleagues when required.

Monitoring of traceability on raw materials and ingredients through process

Conduct ATP Testing if clean-down of machines have taken place

Metal Detector checks, Scale and probe calibrations, Raw Material Intake check, Water quality checks & Monitoring of product quality/process control

Assist with technical issues as and if required, outside the usual job description

Essential Requirements:

A minimum of 1 year experience within in the food industry, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of HACCAP, GMP and Food safety regulations

Strong attention to details and analytical skills

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Computer literacy

Ability to stand for extended periods

Comfortable working in a cold environment

Ability to work alongside QA team and production to resolve issues and non-conformances

Ability to accurately check key information such as use by dates, allergens, batch codes etc.

Solid level of numeracy – able to calculate & report on performance

Remain professional at all times when dealing with all areas of the business including production, technical, NPD etc.
