Job Overview
Title:
QA/QC Technician – Data Center (Contract to Hire).
Location:
Summerville, SC (fully onsite).
Position level:
Contract to Hire.
Pay: $25.00 – $28.00/hr.
Responsibilities

- Stay updated on industry changes and adjust quality practices accordingly.
- Perform QA/QC inspections/observations daily of assigned sites.
- Document findings, including non‑conformities, potential risks, and areas for improvement as outlined in the QA/QC checklist.
- Maintain accurate, organized records of all inspection activities, findings, and follow‑ups.
- Assist with training employees in quality standards and best practices.
Corrective Actions
- Detect deviations from quality standards and report them to the QA/QC Manager, site supervisors, or other relevant personnel.
- Collaborate with your manager to recommend enhancements to quality standards, minimize risks, and improve efficiency.
Other Responsibilities
- Stay current with industry, manufacturing, and internal standards, local, state, and national codes, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with quality assurance/control.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of adult learning concepts.
- Agility and willingness to take on different projects or learn new areas.
- Excellent time management, public speaking, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in structured cabling.
- Understanding of industry and manufacturer standards and proper installation of cable infrastructure.
Skills & Qualifications (Role‑Specific)
- Pure QA/QC auditing role inside data centers; no installation work required, but willingness to help with installation if quality work slows down.
- Audit telecom installations to ensure correct installation, testing, proper dressing, and functioning as designed.
- Audit and quality verification of telecom equipment, copper & fiber cabling, rack layouts, and cable dressing.
- Focused on audits, inspections, testing, documentation.
- Strong understanding of pre‑terminated cables, rack dressing and layout standards, fiber and copper cabling concepts.
- Ability to identify issues and determine correct standards.
- Outside‑of‑data‑center experience acceptable if fundamentals are strong.
Auditor Mindset
- Strong attention to detail.
- Think critically.
- Identify risks and non‑conformities.
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally.
- Comfortable documenting issues and distributing reports.
